In this role, you will: 

  • Lead cargo-focused projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, aligning with dnata Cargo’s operational goals and service standards.
  • Work closely with internal teams, department heads, and third-party vendors to define project objectives, roles, milestones, and service levels specific to dnata Cargo operations.
  • Regularly review project performance and take corrective actions to ensure alignment with project goals, delivering optimal results for the cargo division.
  • Ensure delivery is within the approved timeframe and within agreed cost, driving down costs wherever possible and targeting early delivery.
  • Develop realistic project plans, ensuring adequate resources and tracking progress through dnata Cargo’s project management tools to meet key milestones.
  • Identify risks, design mitigation strategies, and ensure risk management plans are in place, with particular attention to the unique risks within cargo and logistics operations.
  • Provide accurate and timely project updates and reports to project sponsors, senior management, and stakeholders to keep them informed of progress and any issues.
  • Develop and execute training and implementation plans to ensure smooth handovers of project outcomes to dnata Cargo’s operational teams.
  • Proactively address and resolve any conflicts or issues during the project to prevent delays and ensure the continuity of dnata Cargo’s services.
  • Facilitate ongoing system support that is designed and implemented within the project 'go live' phase.
  • Ensure that business requirements are thoroughly understood, documented, and met with practical, cost-effective solutions tailored to the needs of dnata Cargo.
  • Initiate and manage projects through all stages to ensure that their progress, quality and the outputs in key result areas are consistent with the scope and targets envisaged in the project charter. Where it becomes necessary, take appropriate corrective actions in consultation with the department and support functions, concerned.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including business users, cargo operations teams, and third-party service providers, to deliver large-scale and complex cargo-related projects.


In order to be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements: 

  • Work experience in a PMO or Strategic planning: 8+ Years.
  • Degree or Honours (12+3) 
  • Professional qualification in Project Management is highly desirable (PRINCE2, APM, CAPM, Six Sigma, PMP etc).
  • Demonstrated experience managing large cross-functional projects.
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling tools such as Microsoft Projects/Primavera, etc. 


You'll have an edge if you have: 

  • Demonstrable exposure to large scale projects within aviation, supply chain, facilities, or transport. 
  • Exposure to ORAT (operational readiness and transition) projects of scale and complexity is highly desirable. 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Commercial and financial acumen, strong negotiation and influencing skills are required.
  • Demonstrable exposure to: a. Project management b. Change implementation planning and management c. Facilities Development Management d. Project Management tools e. Business analysis.
